We’re Erica and Taylor. We’ve built Southern Star around two things we care deeply about: nourishing our community and creating a welcoming place to celebrate together.

FROM A FARM TO A GATHERING PLACE
It started with the gardens.The celebrations grew from there.
What began with Rocco Moses and a vision for growing food has grown into something much bigger. The farm’s journey started in 2015 with aquaponics before transitioning to traditional soil gardening in 2020. Taylor later joined the farm, bringing a shared passion for growing, cultivating, and connecting with the local community.
Today, Taylor leads our farming operations, continuing to build on the foundation Rocco established. Together, our team works to grow seasonal produce, nurture our gardens, and share the fruits of our labor with the community. Through our CSA and local farmers markets, we’re proud to create meaningful connections between the people who grow food and the people who enjoy it.
Our love for bringing people together around good food eventually grew into something more. What started with farm-to-table dinners and farm-fresh cooking classes evolved into the event center we know today. With the Lawrence family joining as investors and partners in that vision, Southern Star continued to grow into a place where agriculture, food, and meaningful gatherings come together.
Today, the farm and event center share one common thread: a love for bringing people together, celebrating local food, and creating experiences rooted in community.
