THE GRAND RECEPTION PAVILION
Room to celebrate.
Our 3,000-square-foot pavilion is the heart of your reception, with an enclosed, climate-controlled space for dinner, drinks, dancing, and everything in between. Our included tables and chairs give you a starting point to arrange the space around your celebration.
THE MAIN STAGE
Make it the centerpiece.
Our covered stage provides a dedicated spot for your band, DJ, or entertainment. It can also serve as a ceremony backdrop or focal point for special moments throughout your celebration. Make it part of your day in whatever way suits your plans.

PLAN AHEAD
A few things to know.
Where is Southern Star?
You’ll find us at 480 Mill Road in Maxwell, Texas 78656. Visits are by appointment so we can give you our full attention.
Can we bring our own vendors?
Yes. Licensed professionals are welcome. Discuss your vendors with the team, including catering and bar arrangements. Licensed security is required during alcohol service.
Can we bring food and drinks?
Enjoy flexible food and bar options, from in-house catering and approved outside vendors to family-prepared food with an additional agreement. We’ll help you find the right fit for your celebration! Licensed security is required during alcohol service.
What happens if the weather changes?
The reception pavilion is being enclosed and climate-controlled, finished by the end of this winter. Ceremonies and much of the property are outdoors, so talk with the team about a weather plan, tent rentals, and your specific event needs before booking.
What about access, parking, and guest comfort?
During your tour, we’ll walk through parking, arrival routes, restrooms, and any mobility needs so you can plan comfortably for every guest.
Do we need event insurance?
Yes. The venue requires a Special Event Insurance policy for every rental. Ask the team about the requirements for your booking.
Are pets welcome?
The brochures welcome dogs under 125 lbs, with kennels required when unattended. Fees differ between the wedding and general rental brochures, so confirm the applicable fee in your quote.
Are discounts available?
Ask about military and emergency services discounts, micro-wedding discounts for 50 guests or fewer, and smaller events. Holiday pricing may vary.
